Introduction

Hi, My name is Kimberley Tate, I am 27 years old and I am currently going through my precancerous/ very early cervical cancer journey. I have 4 beautiful boys and 1 gorgeous step daughter.
I have shared my story in hope others will also help me prevent cervical cancer. All I need you ladies to do is go for your smears to prevent any abnormal cells you may have that could progress into cervical cancer.

I completely understand why women don't go. It's something you're never quite ready to make time for because most of the time it's the case of not getting around to do it or forgetting to book it for various reasons. It's uncomfortable and mentally scary for women. Plus, most of us have kids to look after, so as the caring amazing mums we are we think about our health last.

When I started this journey, I was Googling everything, researching whatever I could about cervical cancer and joined loads of support groups on Facebook. Ever since my journey started, I have done loads of research that I could write a book or a blog, so I thought, why not? I have been constantly going out of my mind learning about it all, so why not if I can help others understand it all in a less complicated way than I had to? I have been putting the pieces together for it to make sense in my head, so maybe if you can't figure it out, try giving this a read because it might make better sense to you, too.
All the medical words were so overwhelming for me because I didn't have a clue what they ment for me and my body. It's baffling how much I've experienced and realised during my Journey the most effective way to break bad news to someone is over time, it really makes sense when you think of it, All the tests after tests and waiting around for results take time, just to confirm what the doctor already thought it was from the beginning.
Please remember I will talk about my own personal journey and taking you on every step of the way with me. I am sorry if I drift away ranting or even taking you to different subjects; I do that a lot, so please forgive me haha.
You will hopefully get reassurance knowing what the next steps is and so on, Please remember your journey will be different to mine because every journey is unique but we will have the same feelings and symptoms on this journey some a lot worse than others, I hope my story relates to yours and helps guide you the way I had to guide myself and most importantly I hope that reading all of this makes you feel less lonely on your journey.
Please, if you're ever scared and in a medical emergency, DO NOT REFER TO THIS BOOK/BLOG please go see a doctor for medical advice, I have no medical degree so whatever I write in this book/blog it is based on the knowledge I have come to learn during my Journey.
